jSkone is a score keeping application for BQF style Bible quizzing. Here are a few of the features:
jSkone uses PostgreSQL, a database server, for storing all of the scores. For a league or tournament, it is definitely recommended to run this on a stand alone computer. It is OK to run the database on the same computer you will be score keeping from if it the only computer going to be used as a score keeper (e.g. a coach keeping score for their stats).
The 2009 version of the admin had a rounding error for quizzer averages. It has been updated and should work correctly. You can get the updated version from the download page as usual.
jSKone 2009 has been released. A lot of new features have been added to the Admin, and a few to the Client. You can get them in Downloads.
Note that only the individual applications have been updated. New users should download the jSKone 2008 Collection in order to get the documentation and database scripts. Then download the updated versions of the Client and Admin.
Enjoy this version (even though it's a little late)!
jSKone 2008.1 has been officially released. That means that it should be pretty stable.
The following bugs were fixed:
As with the beta, the only included documentation is for the new features. If you want the full manual, you can read it online (and then save it, if you want).
jSKone '08 is available for beta testing. It's database format is compatible with the older versions. This version hasn't been extensively tested, so it might have some things left that need to be fixed. Please give feedback on any bugs that you find. You can download jSKone '08 Beta with the link below. The package has the scorekeeper, the admin, the database creation scripts, and documentation about the new features only (Sorry for the non-descriptive file name!). (You can access the old docs here).
The 2.0 Admin does not round in the quizzer average calculation. This JAR fixes the bug. To install this, download http://www.jskone.org/files/skAdmin_07c.jar and copy it into the existing admin folder. Make sure you run the new one (skAdmin_07c.jar) The only thing i tested on this build is the quizzer average. I may have messed up something else, so it is a good idea to keep the old admin JAR as well.
jSKone 2.0 has been released and uploaded!
